WWF-India,MSO conducts a workshop on Best out of Waste for Pune NCI school students on 21st Sept. 2013 at Indradhanushya,Pune. 33 students participate in the workhop.In this studnets learn to make puppets by using socks ans waste cloths.Studnets were made aware about the waste that we produce and how we can reduce it.  Mrs. Mrudulla Kelkar and her colleges from Pune teach them to make beautiful puppets.

Sion Fort Trail 

WWF-India,MSO had arranged a nature trail to Sion fort in Mumbai. The fort is located in the city and still protecting some wild monsoon flora. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru garden is also situated in the fort.15 participants attend the trail.

Report - Ransai Camp 10-11 August, 2013.

WWF-India, MSO had arranged a nature camp to Ransai village near Panvel. The camp was attended by 9 participants.

It is a quiet village with nice and healthy forest. The village consists four small tribal settlements. It also forms a catchment area of Ransai Dam. We are thankful to 'Friends of Nature' an NGO for helping us in organising the camp. Their help in arranging logistics had made it easy for us to run the camp smoothly. This NGO is working for snake awareness in that area. Interaction with Mr.Jayawant Thakur,from Friends of Nature and Mr. Santosh Takale had revealed lots of interesting facts about the area. This area might undergo the SEZ and this seemed to major concern and a threat as far as original biodiversity of this area is concerned. We request all the nature lovers to do their bit for conserving this area.Quarrying is also another major threat for the biodiversity.

Interaction

Being very near to Mumbai & Panvel this place has already started showing indicators of irresponsible tourism - the garbage (in very less quantity though). We request each person visiting this area to respect nature and act accordingly.
We are thankful to all the participants as well for volunteering in preparing food :)

WWF-India, Teachers' Training Program, 2013

WWF-India Maharashtra State Office conducted a Teachers’ Training Workshop on 12th July, 2013 at Maharashtra Nature Park Society (MNPS), Dharavi. 27 teachers from 16 different Educational Institutes participated in this workshop. The theme was based on this year’s World Environment Day Theme – “Think. Eat. Save.” The focus of the workshop was to sensitize teachers and ultimately students about the food that we eat today, agricultural practices that we have in our country. The sessions taken include – sharing information on WWF-India’s program for schools & colleges, introduction to native vegetables, the food that we eat today -Think eat and save, kitchen garden, nature games, film screenings etc.We are thankful to MNPS for providing us the venue and other necessary support.

Teachers' Training Workshop in collaboration with Department of Environmental Science D. E. S. Fergusson College, Pune

WWF-India Maharashtra State Office conducted a Teachers’ Training Workshop on 7^th Aug, 2013. It was conducted in-collaboration with Department of Environmental Science D. E. S. Fergusson College, Pune. 22 teachers & professors from 10 different Educational Institutes participated in this workshop. The theme was based on this year’s World Environment Day Theme – “Think. Eat. Andaman Nicobar Nature Camp

Update on Malshej : Camp Full
As informed to you earlier we are planning a nature camp in Andaman and Nicobar. We are pleased to give you the details of the same.
Please note: Earlier this camp was announced for the month of January, 2014. Now however, it will be conducted in the month of April, 2014.
You can select the best suitable plan for you. The details are:
                                                         Plan A

Andaman

Camp dates: 20^th to 25^th April, 2014
Places to visit – Mt Harriet, Long Island, Bartang Island (subject to permissions) or Jolly Buoy Island, Chidiya tapu, Cellular Jail, Light & Sound show and other local sightseeing at Port Blair
Charges: Rs. 22,000/- for WWF-India donors and Rs. 24,000/- for other nature enthusiasts.
The cost includes food, stay , travel and entry fee from Port Blair to Port Blair.
Mumbai-Port blair-Mumbai flight tickets can be arranged at an extra cost of Rs. 20,000/- (please note participants have to pay extra if the flight fare increases).
This does not include any scuba diving, snorkeling or any type of sport/ amusement activity offered in Anadaman.

Plan B

Nicobar (Great Nicobar)

Camp Dates: 13^th – 19^th April
Places to visit: Campbell bay, Turtle nesting site at Galathia bay and Shompen settlement.
Camp Charges: Rs. 33,000/- for WWF-India donors and Rs. 35,000/- for other nature enthusiasts
The cost includes food, stay, travel from Port Blair to Car Nicobar and back by Pawan Hans helicopters and local travel.
This does not include any scuba diving, snorkeling or any type of sport/ amusement activity offered in Nicobar.
Mumbai-Port blair-Mumbai flight tickets can be arranged at an extra cost of Rs. 20,000/- (please note participants have to pay extra if the flight fare increases).

Dates: 13^th to 25^th April
Camp Charges : Rs. 55,000/- for WWF-India Donors and Rs. 57,000/- for other nature enthusiasts
The cost includes - The cost includes food, stay, travel and entry fee from Port Blair to Port Blair.
Place to visit: Mt Harriet, Long Island, either Bartang Island or Jolly BuoyIsland, Chidiya tapu, Cellular Jail, Light & Sound show and other local sightseeing at Port Blair, Campbell bay, Turtle nesting site at Galathia bay and Shompen settlement.

Ransai camp update

Tungareshwar Trail was good and full of monsoon flora & insect sightings.

Plan your another monsoon weekend with WWF-India this time at Ransai. A nature education camp planned on August 10-11. It is a small tribal hamlet near Panvel

A Nature camp is organised to Ransai for donors and other nature lovers. The camp cost is Rs. 2250/- for WWF-India donors and Rs 2750/- for other nature enthusiast. The camp cost includes food, travel and accommodation.

Registration – Before 31^th July, 2013.

Vehicle will leave from Dadar TT at 6.30am Sharp. Corner of Swami Narayan Temple.
