Andaman Report. Post - 1

The Andaman and Nicobar group of Islands are one of the places that attract many nature wanderers. We were delighted that we could arrange a nature education camp in such a wonderful place. The camp was conducted in the month of April, 2014 (12th to 29th). 11 participants attended the camp. 'Emerald Blue and You' - the tag line of Andaman & Nicobar Tourism department truly summarizes the feel of this place. We are thankful to BSI , Andaman for taking a guided tour of their exhibition, library and botanical garden. We are thankful to the entire forest department of the Islands (Andaman and Campbell bay) for allowing us to conduct nature trails in the forest. The forest no doubt, has tremendous and magnificent species diversity. It was one of the most awaited and difficult to manage destination due to uncertain ship schedules. We are thankful to Mr. Sayan Pramanik and Mr. Vivek Anand Roy of Andaman Dream Tours and Travels for making timely arrangement of our ships tickets and vehicles. The tourism department and Asst. Commissioner, Campbell bay allowed us to stay at Campbell bay. We are thankful to them as well. With out their help we wouldn't have been able to take our participants to Campbell bay. Last but not the least, a big thank you to all our participants for bearing with us during all 18 days.

During this camp we visited several places such as
